Kenny Golladay will have some ground to makeup if he’s going to lead the NFL in touchdown receptions again.

Golladay is officially inactive for the Detroit Lions’ season opener Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Golladay, who caught 11 touchdown passes and made his first Pro Bowl in 2019, was listed as doubtful on the injury report Friday after straining a hamstring in practice earlier this week. He did not practice on Thursday or Friday, and Lions coach Matt Patricia said the team was taking things slowly with several of its injured players to prevent short-term soft-tissue injuries from turning into month-long ailments.

Rookie cornerback Jeff Okudah also is out with a hamstring injury he suffered this week.

The Lions previously ruled starting right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (foot), backup tight end Hunter Bryant (hamstring) and special teams ace C.J. Moore (hamstring) out. Rookie guard Logan Stenberg and running back Jonathan Williams, a weekly practice squad elevation on Saturday, also are inactive.

Our predictions: Lions should beat the Bears — but a loss wouldn’t be surprising

Lions players are wearing gray long-sleeve T-shirts with the words, “We won’t be silent,” on them during pregame warmups.

Outside linebacker Khalil Mack (knee) is active for the Bears today, while defensive end Robert Quinn is out.
