Kerryon Johnson does Lambeau Leap into empty stands after early TD (Video)

Fansided

Lambeau Stadium looks a little different with no fans in the stands

The Lambeau Leap just isn’t the same in 2020, especially after the Green Bay Packers informed fans they wouldn’t be allowed in the stadium for at least the first two games of the season. With no fans to reject enemy intruders, the Packers run the risk of opposing teams making a mockery of one of the most celebrated institutions in Green Bay football history.

Enter Kerryon Johnson, who scored the first touchdown of the day against the Packers in their Week 2 NFC North divisional matchup.

It’s not necessarily a troll of the Packers as much as it is a clever shot at the state of football in the state of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, the Packers would rather Johnson have never found the end zone to begin with.

Kerryon Johnson’s role in flux with the Lions

Lambeau Leap or not, Johnson’s role is in question with this Lions team, as they drafted D’Andre Swift early in the draft and signed Adrian Peterson late this offseason. Johnson is too talented to leave off the roster or game-plan, of course, but it remains to be seen if Detroit plans to feed all three of these running backs significant carries all season long.

For now, though, Johnson is making his presence felt the only way he can, and that’s by letting his play do the talking for him.
