Notes: Dan Campbell to join the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday

Pride of Detroit

Dan Campbell has made himself quite available to the public in the month he’s spent as Detroit Lions head coach. He’s joined “Good Morning Football,” he’s made personal Twitter videos to Lions fans, and he’s even held private Zoom calls with season ticket holders to introduce himself to the city.

On Wednesday, Campbell will continue that transparency by joining the extremely popular and highly entertaining Pat McAfee Show.

If you aren’t familiar, Pat McAfee is a former NFL punter who has made a post-playing career out of his high-energy character and obvious charisma. You may even remember McAfee’s short-lived NFL broadcasting stint, when he gave a glorious call for Matt Prater’s touchdown pass in Lambeau a few years ago.

McAfee has since built an empire with his live show, in which he pulls in big guests and manages to get them to speak more freely than a typical radio show or podcast. He even somehow loosened up Matt Patricia a couple years ago.

If he can disarm Matt Patricia, imagine what it’s going to be like when the two high-energy characters meet up in a clash of personality when Campbell joins the show later this week. So be sure to catch his appearance on Wednesday. The Pat McAfee show runs from 12 to 3 p.m. ET on his YouTube page. At this point, it’s unclear when exactly he’ll join the show.

*It’s really a five-round draft, since Detroit doesn’t have a pick in the final two rounds.
