On Wednesday, the Detroit Lions made Frank Ragnow the highest-paid center in the NFL with a four-year extension worth just under $70 million. Friday morning he spoke to local media and shared how this new contract would allow him to fulfill his childhood dream of giving back to his parents.
Later that afternoon, Ragnow took to social media to expand on the list of people he wanted to show gratitude for and released the following statement:
“I’m not sure if there is a character limit on this app but here we go…. I am so grateful to the Ford Family, Rod Wood, Brad Holmes, Coach Campbell, Mike Disner and everyone in the organization for believing in me and letting me be a part of the Detroit Lion’s future. Thank you to my amazing agents @athletesfirstfamily for helping get this thing done. I am a product of a village of people that have helped get me here today and will help me continue to be the best person and player I can be in the future. My parents Jon and Marty Ragnow are two of the most incredible people on earth. My Dad was my best friend and he was able to teach me so much to make me who I am today. My mom is my hero.
