Lions: Dan Campbell has the most obscene coffee order of all time (Video)

Fansided

If you think you rely on your morning coffee addiction, meet Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

Imagine starting your day off at Starbucks by ordering two venti coffees with two espresso shots in each of them. A barista taking your order would probably assume they are making drinks to be shared by more than one person. That would be a fair assumption unless you’re Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, who somehow starts every morning off with more than 1,100 mg of caffeine.

Campbell’s morning routine consists of 80 ounces of coffee and four shots of espresso. Yes, you read that correctly. An NFL head coach seemingly thinks he can lead his team to victory by drinking enough coffee to power a small village. As sportswriter Joe Pompliano rightly points out, Campbell’s Starbucks order is the equivalent of drinking 10 cans of Red Bull. If watching the Lions’ defense doesn’t give Campbell a heart attack soon, his daily Starbucks run might.

Campbell drinks the equivalent of 10 Red Bulls of coffee every morning

With all that caffeine in his system, Campbell must be downright buzzing mid-morning. We wonder if the Lions’ medical staff is aware of just how much coffee the head coach is downing on the daily. It seems like a health and safety liability, and we can only imagine how jittery one might get trying to explain the playbook with 1,100 mg of caffeine pumping through your body.

A native of Clifton, Texas, Campbell is about to begin his first season as head coach of the Lions. At 45 years old, the former NFL tight end is in his first year in a ‘permanent’ head coaching capacity, having previously been an assistant or interim head coach. With his obscene coffee order, we’re sure Campbell is ready to seize the day.
