POLL: Which Lions-Ravens player will outperform their projections?

Pride of Detroit

The Detroit Lions suffered their second loss in a row, and the task does not get any easier with the Baltimore Ravens coming to town. No one said this schedule was going to be easy, and even a coaching staff overhaul cannot solve all of the team’s defensive woes. That makes it fun for fantasy owners with players set to face the Lions at any point this year, as the scoring should remain high.

Thankfully, that has also been the case for the Detroit offense as well. It may not be a surprise that T.J. Hockenson is a top-three tight end, or that D’Andre Swift is a top-10 running back, but no one expected Jared Goff to sit in the top 10 among quarterbacks after two weeks. We will see who is able to keep it going. Reminder, the below scoring includes 6pt TDs and 0.5 PPR:

  • D’Andre Swift (14.2 pts): 45 rush yd, 4.6 rec, 39 rec yd, 0.6 TD
  • Quintez Cephus (6.4 pts): 2.7 rec, 38 rec yd, 0.2 TD
  • Ty’Son Williams (10.6 pts): 51 rush yd, 1.9 rec, 16 rec yd, 0.5 TD
  • Marquise Brown (12.4 pts): 4.6 rec, 65 rec yd, 0.6 TD

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Which Lions-Ravens player will outperform their projections?

My answer: My vote here is Swift, who comes in at RB16 in the aggregate projections. It is clear that he is going to be a big part of the passing game, and that is absolutely the future for running backs in fantasy. The Ravens have the reputation of a strong defense, but through the first two weeks there have been yards and points to be had against them.

Cephus had a good, nearly great, game against the Packers, but it remains to be seen if this was a one-off or the start of a bigger role; I remain skeptical. Meanwhile, Williams is trying to prove he should be the bellcow of the Baltimore backfield. Seeing how Aaron Jones ran right through the Lions defense, this will be a chance for him to make a big statement.

Your turn.
