Detroit Lions injury report: Week 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks

SideLion Report

Here is the final Week 4 injury report for the Detroit Lions heading into Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Detroit Lions will return to Ford Field to take on the also 1-2 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The point spread, while still favoring the Lions, has narrowed a lot based on some dire but somewhat expected injury news for Detroit on Friday morning.

Here is Friday’s final Week 4 injury report for the Lions, with game statuses.

Detroit Lions Week 4 injury report

RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder/ankle)-Out
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle)-Out
OG Jonah Jackson (finger)-Out
DL John Cominsky (wrist)-Out
K Austin Siebert (right groin)-Out
WR DJ Chark (ankle)-Questionable
WR Josh Reynolds (ankle)-Questionable
TE T.J. Hockenson (foot)-No designation
C Frank Ragnow (foot)-No designation
LB Chris Board (knee)-No designation
CB Bobby Price (shin)-No designation

The absences of Swift and St. Brown for Sunday’s game were all but confirmed by head coach Dan Campbell on Friday morning. Swift is line to be shut down until the Lions’ Week 6 bye, while St. Brown hasn’t been thought to be facing a lengthy absence.

Jackson will miss a third straight game at left guard with an injury to a finger on his right hand. Dan Skipper is in line for a third straigth start in his place.

Cominsky underwent surgery 10 days ago, so he may not be back until after the Week 6 bye. But that he has not been placed on IR, which would cause him to miss at least four games (Sunday will be No. 2) is a positive sign.

With Siebert out, Dominik Eberle will come up from the practice squad to handle the kicking for the Lions on Sunday. Given he did not practice all week, how long Siebert might be out is a reasonable question. Eberle has kicked in one NFL regular season game to this point in his career, in 2021 for the Houston Texans.

Chark and Reynolds were always headed for questionable designations, and both are expected to play. If they can go on Sunday and aren’t too limited, both are in line for significant roles with St. Brown out.

For the first time since heading into the season opener, Ragnow does not have an injury designation on the final injury report of the week.
