The Detroit Lions backfield will be at full strength for Sunday’s tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers. Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Lions have entered the weekend without an injury designation for running back David Montgomery.

Montgomery has missed his team’s last two games with a rib injury. The Lions have leaned on rookie Jahmyr Gibbs with Montgomery inactive.

The Lions signed a three-year, $18 million contract with running back David Montgomery this offseason. Montgomery becomes one of the most used backs in the NFL when active. The 26-year-old has run for 385 yards and six touchdowns on 94 carries. He has also caught six passes for 66 yards. His most impressive game came in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers, rushing 32 times for 121 yards and three scores while catching both targets for 20 yards.

Montgomery, a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, played his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears. He ran for 3,609 yards and 32 scores during that span.
