ESPN declares Lions the ‘landing spot for Darius Robinson’ in the draft

As we all try to figure out what Lions GM Brad Holmes and the team are going to do in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft in two weeks, more and more guesswork is flowing. One of the more prominent outlets strongly suggests that the most likely choice is Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson.

In the latest draft amalgamation from ESPN’s draft staff and beat writers, the Lions section spotlights one very specific player fit at No. 29.

“Here’s your landing spot for Darius Robinson,” said an area scout who crossed paths with the Lions’ decision-makers multiple times this year and has shared conversations with them about team needs.

This is not the first time Robinson has been suggested as a likely Lions draft target. The Detroit native worked out at the Lions training facility earlier this week at the local pro day, and the Lions met with Robinson at both the Senior Bowl and the NFL Scouting Combine, too. His ability to play end or tackle at between 285 and 290 pounds is cited as appealing for Detroit, which does need youthful depth at both spots.
