Lions take top spot in latest PFF offensive line rankings

USA Today

The Lions invested heavily in their offensive line this offseason, giving new contracts to Penei Sewell and Taylor Decker while also adding Kevin Zeitler to replace Jonah Jackson. Why? Because the unit is very good. So good in fact, that Pro Football Focus’s Zoltan Buday ranked the group as the No. 1 offensive line in the entire league.

Here’s what Buday wrote about the unit.

When healthy, the Lions’ offensive line was arguably the best unit in the NFL last season. Right tackle Penei Sewell was the league’s highest-graded offensive lineman, and Frank Ragnow earned the top spot among centers.

Although the unit lost right guard Jonah Jackson in free agency, the Lions signed veteran guard Kevin Zeitler, who ranked 15th in PFF grade among guards in 2023.

In addition to having the top overall lineman and top center, Decker ranked among the top ten tackles and Graham Glasgow was a top-ten guard. It doesn’t get much better than the group Detroit has protecting Jared Goff or opening holes for Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
