Dave Fipp: Blue Angels Ride-Along at Naval Air Facility El Centro | Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions
Back in March, special teams coordinator Dave Fipp was able to live out his lifelong dream of riding along with the Navy’s Blue Angels as a passenger in one of their F/A-18 Super Hornets. The son of a former Navy pilot, coach Fipp grew up watching the Blue Angels perform at yearly air shows in his hometown of San Diego, CA. Within the last decade, he secured a commercial piloting license himself which he uses primarily in the offseason.

The Blue Angels met Dave Fipp through his personal piloting in Michigan and offered him this ride-along opportunity after hearing about his family’s history in the Navy and his personal passion for aviation inspired by his father.
