Joe Dahl is back, and ready to start if need be.

The Detroit Lions activated Dahl from injured reserve Saturday, clearing the way for him to start at center Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars if Frank Ragnow cannot play because of a groin injury.

Dahl, the Lions’ starting left guard last season, missed three games with a groin injury he suffered in September, but practiced in full this week.

Ragnow is questionable to play after leaving practice Wednesday with a groin injury. He sat out practice Thursday and did not take part during individual drills Friday.

The Lions have started three different combinations on their offensive line this year, with Dahl and right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai missing time.

Vaitai has played right guard since his return, with Tyrell Crosby holding down the right tackle spot and Jonah Jackson moving to left guard in Dahl’s absence.

The Lions also signed quarterback David Blough from their practice squad Saturday, waived cornerback Chris Jones and elevated tight end Isaac Nauta to the gameday roster pursuant to this year’s COVID-19-related roster rules.

One Jaguars practice squad player tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, and the team worked remotely Saturday, but Sunday’s game remains scheduled for 1 p.m.
