Texans continue to embarrass Lions with trick-play touchdown (Video)

The Texans offense is pouring it on against the Lions without much of a challenge.

The Detroit Lions entered Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans needing a victory after a terrible 20-0 performance Sunday against Carolina. The need did not become a reality.

Instead, the Texans are pouring it on and the Lions look to have given up on head coach Matt Patricia. The worst part of the afternoon for Detroit came in the fourth quarter after the offense turned the ball over on downs. Deshaun Watson and the Texans offense took over and it did not take long for another score.

Cue the trickery!

This was a slow-developing trick play that saw Duke Johnson run with the ball for several seconds before throwing it back to Watson. Then came the easy strike downfield to Will Fuller to give him two touchdowns on the day and to give the Texans a commanding 41-17 lead.

The Texans are just having fun at this point. The Lions have proved to be a weak opponent on a day when Watson has four touchdown passes and Matthew Stafford has zero. But the latter does have a pick-six!

A win for Houston keeps their slim playoff hopes alive. The Lions will also be at 4-7, but they are not a playoff team. That is known.

Even the trick plays aren’t going in Detroit’s favor. They tried to throw a pass to Stafford and he couldn’t hang on for the duration of the play. When Houston pulls out the tricks they score a touchdown. That sums up this game quite well.
