Detroit Lions announce date, details for 2021 Family Fest at Ford Field

The Detroit Lions on Monday announced this year’s Family Fest will take place Saturday, Aug. 7 at Ford Field. The event is free and open to the public, but fans must register for a ticket at www.detroitlions.com/familyfest.

The Lions, who played last season without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, begin practice at 11:30 a.m., but gates open at 10 a.m. The event will feature appearances from past players, cheerleaders and of course, Lions mascot, Roary, plus live music, free face painting and more.

Pride Plaza on Brush Street will have a zipline and tailgate activities, and the first 15,000 fans will receive a poster.

All parking will be $6 in Ford Field lots.

The Lions have their first public training camp practice July 31 in Allen Park. Find their entire practice schedule here.

The Lions open the exhibition season Aug. 13 vs. Buffalo, visit Pittsburgh on Aug. 21 and host Indianapolis on Aug. 27.
