Lions Game Sunday: Lions vs Packers Prediction and Odds

SideLion Report

After a massive comeback to close out the game against the 49ers in Week 1, the Lions head into their game against the Packers facing another tough challenge against a motivated squad coming off an embarrassing loss to the Saints. Can Jared Goff and the offense keep the hot hand they discovered late against the 49ers? The Packers were gouged by the Saints in Week 1, so if there was a defense to do it against, this feels like it.

Before we get to our prediction, here are the odds for the game.

Lions vs Packers Odds

The Lions are an 11-point underdog against on the Packers at WynnBET, which means if you bet the Lions spread they have to keep this game within 10 points for you to win.

On the moneyline, the Lions are +410 underdogs, which means you bet $10 to win $41 if the Lions win. It also means the implied probability of the Packers winning based on those odds is 84.6%, so yeah, Vegas doesn’t like Detroit in this one.

The over/under (how many points the teams will combine to score) is 48.5, so if you’re taking the over you want them to score 49 points combined and the under is 48 points combined.

Lions vs Packers Prediction

I already wrote about Aaron Rodgers and his dominance against the Lions on BetSided, so I’m not going down that road again. Simply put, for those who don’t want to read that, he’s dominated the Lions like no other, especially at Lambeau.

That said, I don’t love the 11-point line either way. It’s just too wide a margin. What I prefer is the over on 48.5 points.

The Packers’ offense was horrible in Week 1, but I see them coming out guns blazing this week. But why I like this over is because it’s clear the Lions have no quit in them. They fought the 49ers every step of the way and finally found success late. That should build confidence heading into this one.

Packers 30, Lions 20
