Amon-Ra St. Brown calls for reunion with former USC teammate?

SideLion Report

As Amon-Ra St. Brown sets historical marks seemingly every week now, he seems to be calling for the Lions to draft his college teammate.

Amon-Ra St. Brown had another great game Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, with eight catches for a career-high 111 yards and a touchdown along with 23 rushing yards and a score on the ground. He continues to set weekly marks in both Detroit Lions and NFL rookie history.

During Sunday’s game, USC wide receiver Drake London tweeted about St. Brown’s performance.

Or should I say former USC wide receiver Drake London, since he has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft. London’s final season as a Trojan ended early due to a leg injury. In just eight games, he had 88 receptions for 1.084 yards and seven touchdowns.

St. Brown had an interesting response to London.

The Lions of course drafted St. Brown in the fourth round (112th overall) in the 2021 draft out of USC. That also means he spent two seasons as London’s teammate.

If not for his injury it feels like London would be a lock to go in the first round of April’s draft, and he still might even with that question mark right now. The idea the Lions would draft him with their second first-round pick has been out there quite a bit. With a pick at the top of the second round, maybe London lasts to the Lions there.

At 6-foot-5 with contested catch ability and decent ability to separate vertically, London would be a nice fit for Detroit. In many ways he looks like a perfect complement to St. Brown, who is a smaller receiver and dynamite in the slot with burgeoning versatility.

The Lions seem sure to come out of the 2022 draft with a wide receiver (if not more than one). For his piece St. Brown wants to team up with London again, and he’s likely to be a legit option for Detroit.
