Detroit Lions 2023 season tickets sell out for first time in Ford Field history

Detroit Free Press

The Detroit Lions have an opportunity to bring a playoff game to Ford Field this season and fans have taken notice.

Lions president Rod Wood announced on WXYT-FM (97.1) Thursday morning that all season tickets are sold out for the first time in their history at Ford Field, which began in 2002.

In fact, Wood said there is a waiting list for season tickets in the works, something that would have been unheard of during the doldrums of the Matt Millen or Quinn-Patricia eras.

The Lions are currently favored to win the NFC North Division, which would give Ford Field its first home playoff game ever. The last time the team hosted a playoff game was in 1993 at the Pontiac Silverdome. Since moving to Ford Field, the team has made three playoff appearances (2011, 2014 and 2016).

The hype for the team appears to be at an all-time high as training camp tickets are sold out as well. After just missing the playoffs last season with a 9-8 record, Lions fans appear to be hopeful this could be the season Detroit gets to see some postseason football.
