Lions list Decker, Dorsey, Moseley as non-participants on estimated practice report

Detroit News

Allen Park — The Detroit Lions didn’t practice Wednesday, but the team released an estimated injury report as required by the league, projecting three players wouldn’t have participated.

Offensive tackle Taylor Decker headlined that list, but that was expected as he continues to deal with an ankle injury he suffered in the team’s season-opening victory over Kansas City. Additionally, cornerbacks Emmanuel Moseley and Khalil Dorsey were projected to have been held out.

Moseley, who is continuing to work his way back from last season’s torn ACL, is now also dealing with a hamstring issue, according to the practice report. He had been the team’s lone injury-related absence from the lineup last week. Dorsey, who served as Detroit’s kickoff returner and one of two gunners on punt coverage, is battling an illness.

As for Detroit’s opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, it’s looking more and more likely the team will be without their two starting offensive tackles, Charles Cross and Abe Lucas. Cross has a sprained big toe and Lucas is dealing with a knee injury.

“It’s going to be hard for them, it’s going to be a challenge for them,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told local reporters Wednesday morning. “…We’ll see how it goes. You’ll see us be a little bit active. We already worked to get Jason Peters in here, which is a remarkable thing in itself, going into his 20th season. So you’ll see us respond to how they wind up doing this week.”

The Seahawks ended up placing Lucas on injured reserve in the afternoon, sidelining him for at least the next four games. Cross, along with linebacker Boye Mafe (knee) and defensive end Mike Morris (shoulder) sat out the day’s practice.

The Seahawks officially added Peters, a nine-time Pro Bowler, to the team’s practice squad on Tuesday. The 41-year-old lineman is the NFL’s oldest active player. He served as a reserve for the Dallas Cowboys last season.
