Lions QB Jared Goff’s interception-less streak ends with pick-six

Detroit News

Detroit — Jared Goff’s interception-less streak is over — and it ended in the most painful way possible.

The Detroit Lions quarterback, who hadn’t thrown an interception since the third quarter of a Week 9 win over the Green Bay Packers last season, saw his streak snapped at 383 passes in Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks at Ford Field.

With the Lions trailing 24-21 in the fourth quarter, Goff was hit while trying to get a quick throw to rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs, but the ball ended up behind the intended target, caught by Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown and returned to the end zone for a 40-yard pick-six.

The turnover was eerily reminiscent of one against the Seahawks in Week 4 of last season. Trailing 24-15 in the third quarter, Goff forced a throw that was intercepted and returned for a pick-six by Seahawks corner Tariq Woolen. The Lions lost that meeting, 48-45.
