Taylor Decker nominated for the Art Rooney Award

Left tackle Taylor Decker is the Lions nominee for this year’s Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. The nominees from around the NFL were revealed on Wednesday morning.

It’s a deserving nomination for Decker, the longest-tenured Lions player. The Rooney award recognizes players who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship on the field during games.

Decker is a first-time nominee for the honor, which will be chosen after the season.

“The award is presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents and integrity in competition.​”
