Emmanuel Moseley will return to the Lions ahead of free agency

USA Today

The Detroit Lions got a little work done ahead of the free agent franchise tag deadline on Tuesday. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions re-signed cornerback Emmanuel Moseley that will keep the veteran corner from hitting free agency.

Moseley will sign a one-year deal with the Lions and hope to make right on the unfulfilled promise of 2023. Last offseason, Moseley was signed away from the San Francisco 49ers to a one-year, $6 million deal as he was coming off a knee injury.

Sadly, Moseley wasn’t ready to play until Week 5 and lasted all of two plays before tearing the ACL in his other knee. Projected as a starting outside CB, Moseley’s loss was a huge blow to the Lions depth chart.

Now, Moseley returns for a shot at redemption in Detroit. Terms of the deal are not yet disclosed.
