Lions injury update: Dan Campbell provides status updates on several wounded Lions

USA Today

Lions head coach Dan Campbell had to devote a lot longer than hoped for in his Tuesday press conference to reporting on the health status of several of his Detroit players.

First up, the good news. Rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold, who left Monday’s practice in the concussion protocol, has cleared all the necessary tests and will practice on Tuesday.

On tight end Sam LaPorta, Campbell stated that he won’t practice again on Tuesday. The coach did indicate that LaPorta is dealing with a minor hamstring issue.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler will also sit out practice after leaving Monday’s session with a shoulder injury. Campbell didn’t go into greater detail beyond noting it’s “not a long-term” injury.

Linebacker Malcolm Rodrguez and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu won’t practice on Tuesday as well. No specific details were given on their conditions. Both were full participants in Monday’s skirmish-filled practice.

Then, sadly, is the news that cornerback Emmanuel Moseley will miss significant time with a torn pectoral muscle suffered in Monday’s practice.
