The Lions had a historically good special teams game on Sunday

It’s not very often that you get to shoutout special teams and say that the Detroit Lions won this game because their special teams unit balled out, but here we are. 

Lions special teams coordinator Dave Fipp had his guys ready to go in this one and they did a ton of special things. Khalil Dorsey had a big 72-yard kick return that set up a touchdown. After that Kalif Raymond had a 64-yard punt return that set up a touchdown and then had a 90-yard return for a touchdown. Jake Bates hit a 51-yard field goal and then Jack Fox boomed multiple big punts. 

You could see with your eyes that the Lions had a really good special teams day, but now we know the Lions actually had a historically good special teams day thanks to FFN’s Aaron Schatz.
