Lions inactives vs. Texans reflect a lack of trust in the OL depth

The Detroit Lions inactive player list for the Week 10 Sunday night game in Houston sheds a lot of light on how the team feels about the offensive line depth.

With starting left tackle Taylor Decker out with a shoulder injury, the Lions opted to also keep reserves Colby Sorsdal and Giovanni Manu as healthy scratches. That means practice squad elevation Jamarco Jones is effectively above each on the depth chart, even though his roster status doesn’t necessarily say so.

Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez was ruled out with a knee injury. Newcomer Za’Darius Smith will wait a week to make his Detroit debut after getting just one quick practice in since being acquired in a trade from Cleveland.

Joining Sorsdal and Manu as healthy scratches are rookies Loren Strickland (safety) and Christian Mahogany (OG).
