Alim McNeill being evaluated for concussion

USA Today

As if the Lions didn’t have enough injuries on the defensive side, now they can add defensive lineman Alim McNeill to that list. McNeill is being evaluated for a concussion and has entered the protocol. First, he was in the medical tent on the sideline and has since gone to the locker room.

The Lions are already without numerous players on the defensive line, including DJ Reader, who is inactive Thursday with a shoulder injury suffered on Thanksgiving against the Chicago Bears. Josh Paschal (knee) and Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring) are also out Thursday. Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, Kyle Peko and Mekhi Wingo are also among the defensive linemen that were already injured at some point during the season.

With McNeill out, the Lions are left with Pat O’Connor, Brodric Martin, Myles Adams and Jonah Williams on the interior.

Edit: McNeill has returned to the game.
