A new anthem for Detroit and the Free Press

Check out a new music video featuring Brian Vander Ark.

Vander Ark is the lead singer, principal songwriter and guitarist for the Michigan-based band Verve Pipe.

The video features photos and video from the Free Press and the Detroit News and kicks off a new promotional campaign for the papers with an anthem that pays tribute to the strength and grit of southeast Michigan in these tough times.

The Detroit Media Partnership, which manages the business functions for the newspapers, unveiled the video Friday. Look for it beginning Monday on local TV and cable stations and next week prior to movie previews on 298 theater screens throughout metro Detroit.

“The concept came directly from the hundreds of people we spoke to across metro Detroit while developing this campaign,” said Dave Hunke, CEO of Detroit Media Partnership and publisher of the Detroit Free Press. “It is time to show the world the spirit of Detroit. We will persevere and come together to make this region great again.”
