J.J. Watt makes pick-6; Texans follow with delay of game, missed XP

J.J. Watt gifted his Texans a touchdown thanks to a terrible throw from Matthew Stafford.

The Houston Texans and Detroit Lions are squaring off in a pitiful battle of losing teams on Thanksgiving. The Lions were able to score first and take some pressure off Matt Patricia, but the magic didn’t last long.

Matthew Stafford took the snap on first down after a Texans punt and proceeded to throw the ball right into the hands of J.J. Watt. He took it in for a touchdown and it is clear this is going to be a long afternoon.

Texans can’t complete the score.

What was that? Watt was right there waiting for the pass that sums up the state of the Lions right now. But in a bizarre twist, the Texans couldn’t even tie the game.

The special teams unit took an inexcusable delay of game penalty on the extra-point try. That was bad enough. Then the kick was missed and Texans fans are left wondering if the whole franchise just needs one big reset.

The good news is the Lions appear to still be struggling after being shut-out last week and Deshaun Watson was able to lead his own first-quarter touchdown drive to take a 13-7 lead.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens having their game postponed meant NFL fans were in for a rough day of football. A missed extra point after a terrible pass that was returned for a touchdown is a great sequence to describe how the day may go.
