The Detroit Lions will be involved in the free agent market at wide receiver, but here are four they should absolutely avoid.

The Detroit Lions will be in the market for wide receivers in free agency, with Amon-St. Brown here to stay and Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond as unrestricted free agents. The draft will yield some good options to potentially fill out the depth chart too.

Last year’s most notable wide receiver signings, Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman, fell flat even with minimal expectations. Perriman didn’t make it to Week 1 on the roster, while Williams was injured in Week 1 and never played again last season.

It’s safe to say general manager Brad Holmes will be a little more aggressive in the wide receiver market this year. Re-signing Reynolds and Raymond is somewhere on the radar, but wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El’s desire for plenty of competition on the room will surely be met. Getting down to it, there shouldn’t be many hard “avoids” as the Lions consider who to pursue and make contract offers to.

But there will be lines in the Lions pursuit of free agent wide receivers–be it cost, perception of fit, etc. or a combination of multiple things. With that in mind, here are four free agent wide receivers the Lions should avoid.
