4 Washington Commanders the Detroit Lions could have particular interest in trading for

SideLion Report

As the Washington Commanders perhaps move toward a sell-off, these four players could be of interest to the Detroit Lions.

The Detroit Lions won’t realistically be trade deadline buyers with a 1-4 record right now, and they don’t necessarily have a lot of players to clearly sell to contending teams. But general manager Brad Holmes should have his eyes open to potential opportunities for deals.

As the Carolina Panthers fired head coach Matt Rhule and opened their doors to trading players, the Washington Commanders may be looking toward a similar path.

The Commanders improved their record to 2-4 with an ugly (and fortunate) win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, but head coach Ron Rivera is clearly feeling some heat. On Thursday. before the game, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reported Washington could look to trade some veterans before the Nov. 1 deadline.

Vacchiano added the note about a loss Thursday night to fall to 1-5 pushing Washington to make trades. But the win shouldn’t shift that notion all that much if a sell-off is in play. If Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney had corralled a late catch sooner, or fallen across the plane instead of just short, the Commanders would be 1-5.

If the Commanders are willing to trade players, and they probably should be, these four could be of particular interest to the Detroit Lions.
