The Detroit Lions are getting half of their missing receiver tandem back for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.

The Lions activated wide receiver DJ Chark from injured reserve Saturday, but downgraded receiver Josh Reynolds to out with a back injury.

Reynolds has not played since he felt his back lock up in practice before the Lions’ Nov. 6 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Chark, the Lions’ top free agent signing of the offseason, has been out since Week 4 with soreness in his surgically repaired ankle, and the Lions (3-6) have been operating at less than full strength at receiver most of the season.

Reynolds is tied for second on the team with 26 catches for 357 yards, while Chark, the Lions’ top deep threat, has seven catches for 98 yards.

The Lions waived safety Juju Hughes from their 53-man roster, and elevated receiver Stanley Berryhill to the game day roster from practice squad.

Reynolds had been listed as questionable to play. He practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, but did not practice Friday.
