Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills early Week 12 odds and prediction

SideLion Report

The Detroit Lions will host the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving Day, and here are the early odds for the game along with a prediction.

The Detroit Lions beat the New York Giants 31-18 on Sunday. They’ve won three straight games now, but making it four in a row will be tough on Thanksgiving Day against the Buffalo Bills.

A huge snowstorm hit upstate New York late last week and into the weekend, so the Bills were forced to play their Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns in Detroit at Ford Field. It wasn’t the most dominant of wins, 31-23, but the Bills are feeling good again after a couple losses in a row.

The Lions will not have Jeff Okudah on Thursday, as their best cornerback left the game against the Giants to be evaluated for a concussion. It will basically be impossible for him to clear concussion protocol to play on a short week. Not great timing as the Lions will try to stop Josh Allen.

Via FanDuel Sportsbook, here are early odds, followed by a prediction, for the first game on Thanksgiving Day.

Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills: Week 12 odds and prediction

Point Spread:

Lions (+9.5): -115
Bills (-9.5): -105

Moneyline:

Lions: +330
Bills: -420

Over/Under (53.5 points):

Over: -115
Under: -105

The Bills are unsurprisingly very heavy favorites on Thursday, and it the Lions weren’t looking better lately the spread would surely be double-digits. If the game were in Buffalo, it would be a bigger point spread. Simply keeping the game close will be widely seen as a victory for Detroit.

Prediction: Bills 33, Lions 27.

The Lions should be plenty game on Thursday, playing like they have nothing to lose as a big underdog. If the Bills don’t match that intensity, they could be in some early trouble. But ultimately the better team prevails here, with the Bills winning, the Lions covering and the over on the point total hitting pretty comfortably.

Note: Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
