In just his second NFL game, the first reception for Detroit Lions rookie Jameson Williams is a 41-yard touchdown catch to set the Ford Field crowd on fire in the first quarter of the game against the Vikings on Sunday.
Williams made his NFL debut last week against the Jaguars, but did not catch the one pass thrown his way. Williams suffered a torn ACL 11 months ago in the College Football Playoff national championship game for Alabama. The Lions trade with the Vikings during the NFL draft to move up to select Williams.

After the Lions stopped the Vikings on a fourth-and-1, the Lions ran for 5 yards, setting up a second-and-5 from Minnesota’s 41-yard line. On a play-action fake, Jared Goff went back and lofted a pass deep over the middle to a wide-open Williams for the score.
As you can imagine, Williams was beyond excited. So, too, were Lions fans.
Welcome back
Before Williams’ touchdown, former Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson, traded to the Vikings earlier this season, made his first catch back at Ford Field on Sunday. He was greeted by the Lions fans with a chorus of boos.
Hockenson early in the second quarter dropped a wide-open pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins on third down on the sideline, much to the delight of the Lions, to force a punt.
