All the ways Lions mopped the floor with Packers after statement win

Fansided

The Detroit Lions did their job on Sunday night, even if it didn’t help their season. They won on the field, but continued to embarrass the Packers after.

The Detroit Lions capped off a turnaround season with a 20-16 win over the Green Bay Packers. While the Lions were pushed out of playoff contention thanks to the Seahawks winning just before the Sunday Night Football kickoff, the next best thing they could do was keep the Packers from qualifying for extended play.

That they did, as the Packers needed a win to get into the postseason.

After starting the year 1-6, the Lions in their final 10 games of the year went a remarkable 8-2. A playoff berth would have been great, but they entered the offseason as victorious as a team can be without having qualified for the playoffs.

They did more than just beat the Packers on the field, though, they also embarrassed them in other ways after the game to twist the knife on the Packers and their fanbase.

Every way the Lions embarrassed the Packers after Week 18 win

There was a fiery back and forth between coaching staffs after the game:

Safety Kerby Joseph of the Lions had this to say which is just an epic response to getting DQ’d:

The social media staff murdered the Packers and Aaron Rodgers here:

Missing out on the postseason stings, especially for the Packers who have become used to being in contention in mid-to-late January. But being knocked out by a division rival that has stunk in recent history? That stings even more.

Keep in mind, the Packers were swept by the Lions this year. They’ve now lost three in a row to Detroit.

If that’s the end of Rodgers’ career in Green Bay, it feels great to put the nail in the coffin if you’re Detroit.
