Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown gets nice spot on PFF top-101 list

SideLion Report

Pro Football Focus is out with the another part of its top 101 players from the 2022 season, and Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown got a nice spot on the list.

Pro Football Focus unveiled the first piece of its top 101 NFL players from the 2022 season earlier this week, with Lions right tackle Penei Sewell coming in at No. 77. It’s worth mentioning the list is for only this last season.

Another portion of the list game out on Wednesday. There seemed to be an obvious Lion who would make the list at some point, and that promise came through.

At No. 28, there indeed is Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Here’s what PFF’s Sam Monson wrote about the “Sun God.”

St. Brown may not have the same skill set as some other dominant receivers, but it’s difficult to overlook just how effective he has been for Detroit despite little help around him. This season, he was one of six receivers to post a 90.0-plus PFF grade, and he dropped just four passes from 139 targets.

Amon-Ra St. Brown gets solid spot on Pro Football Focus’ Top-101 list

There are seven wide receivers among the 75 players that have thus far been revealed on PFF’s top-101 list for the 2022 season. In order from lowest to highest, before St. Brown, there’s Terry McLaurin (No. 87), Amari Cooper (No. 81), Garrett Wilson (No. 76), Jaylen Waddle (No. 66), CeeDee Lamb (No. 50) and Ja’Marr Chase (No. 39).

It will of course depending on how the top-25 takes shape in terms of position breakdown, But it appears, with an educated glance, St. Brown will wind up being ranked as a top-12 wide receiver in the NFL for the 2022 season by Pro Football Focus.

St. Brown has re-written big pieces of the Lions’ record books through his first two seasons, and he’s in some unique places in league history through two seasons in the league. Now he’s starting to get some broader recognition.
