Cheapest ticket at any Detroit Lions home game in 2023 will cost at least $100

It pays to be the boss. Or perhaps, in this situation, you must pay if your team is the boss.

The Detroit Lions are, for a change, entering the season with real expectations. It’s something the team has fully embraced, much like the fans have fully embraced this Lions squad.

That embracing will come with a slightly higher cost this year, however — if you’re in the market for a Lions ticket, prepare to open your wallet.

Yes, inflation is real, and it has never been cheap to attend professional sporting events, but the cheapest ticket for any Lions game this season at Ford Field will cost at least $100, and that’s if you are willing to make sacrifices.

Let’s start with the team’s official site, run through Ticketmaster. There, the cheapest single ticket is $111 — before fees — for the matchup with the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 8. If you’re looking for multiple tickets? You’ll be starting around $120 per seat (plus fees).

It’s slightly better on the resale sites, but not by much.

A search through StubHub and Vivid Seats, two of the largest second-hand ticket brokers, placed the cheapest seat available at $79. The ticket was a single seat in the upper deck for the matchup with the Panthers, who finished second in the NFC South last season but are rebuilding behind No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young at quarterback. After fees, that ticket came out to be $110. Again, for a single seat. And if you need a pair (or more)?

The next cheapest tickets are all listed right around $100, with the lowest being a pair of $95 seats (before fees) for the Week 18 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. (It’s actually a bit surprising, considering the potential for this game to determine the NFC North winner.)

Unsurprisingly, the game with the most expensive resale price is the Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Green Bay Packers. The cheapest ticket for that affair is set at $210, but that’s not the most jarring thing about this game. The most expensive ticket is a solo seat in Row 5 of section 132, set at $8,721. They may have to adjust that price at some point, but it’s a small sign of the incredible interest in the team this year.
