The Detroit Lions placed rookie running back Mohamed Ibrahim on the Practice Squad/Injured Reserve. Ibrahim suffered a hip injury on a kick return in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. He dislocated his hip, requiring emergency surgery after the game.

The Lions already have a banged-up running-back tandem. Starting RB David Montgomery has missed two games this season. Montgomery left Week 2 against Seattle with a thigh injury. He missed Week 3 against Atlanta. Montgomery exited Week 6 against Tampa Bay with a thigh injury and missed Week 7 against Baltimore. He is questionable for Detroit’s matchup against Las Vegas on Monday.

Rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs also has been dealing with an injury. Jahmyr injured his hamstring and missed Week 5 against Carolina and Week 6 against Tampa Bay. He came back to play Baltimore and got the bulk of the snaps.

The Detroit Lions rookie played college football at Minnesota.
