Its’ time for the Lions trade for a stud and make a run

Alright, the Detroit Lions just won a big Monday night outing against the Las Vegas Raiders and they will go to 6-2 for the first time since 2011. It’s really easy to just sit back and say “that’s it. They don’t need anymore help.” I get that. You love your team and that’s an appropriate response. But, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being good and then getting better.

The Lions are all grown up now. They aren’t just a team that can win their division. They’re a team that can do so much more. That’s why they should go out on Tuesday and do what they have to do to make a splash in the trade market and add a player that can help push them over the top.

This is the Rasheed Wallace moment for the Lions. You can stick and be a good team or you can make your Sheed move and become a great team. It’s that time.

It doesn’t have to be a mega move. They don’t have go out and get the most expensive player or anything like that. For me, the Lions just need to go out and make that Chase Young move on Tuesday. That should be enough to push this team over the top and help Aidan Hutchinson stop getting so much attention and double teams and maybe free him up.

If not Young, then Montez Sweat or offer Minnesota whatever they want for Danielle Hunter. Even if it’s not edge, a cornerback like Kendall Fuller if the Commanders are selling would help. Adoree’ Jackson from the Giants or Donte Jackson from the Panthers would work too. Do what you have to. I just don’t think the Lions should do nothing.

Are the Lions going to be ok if the deadline passes and they haven’t done anything? Probably. This is a good football team and they should continue to be a good team down the stretch. I just think that they have a real chance to be a great team right now.

You’re seeing teams like the Eagles and Seahawks making moves for Pro Bowlers because they want to be great instead of good, the Lions should be doing that too.

We’ll see what the Lions do on Tuesday. Are they ready to take the next step?
