Detroit Lions News: Isaiah Buggs Cut, Lions vs. Vikings, Rest Starters For The Playoffs?

Lions Nation Unite
On Tuesday, news broke that the Detroit Lions are parting ways with veteran defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs. While not completely unexpected considering how the Lions used Buggs sparingly in 2023, it is still a pretty shocking development when you consider just how high of a standing he had with the team going into the year—having been handed a two-year contract in March.

That said, we all knew the Lions were going to have to make some tough roster decisions as the team heads to the playoffs. At some point, Detroit is expected to roster C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Alim McNeill, and likely James Houston, too, as they all return from injured reserve. Buggs appears to be the first of a few tough cuts.

When the news broke on Tuesday, myself and Erik Schlitt were live on our Twitch and YouTube pages to give our live reactions to the breaking development. We talked about why the Lions may have selected Buggs, what moves may still be upcoming, and just the human element of this entire situation.
