Former Lions safety Quandre Diggs announces he’s off the market

USA Today

The pool of available free agent safeties just got shallower with the news that former Lions starter Quandre Diggs has agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans. Diggs announced the news himself on his social media account.

Diggs remains popular with Lions fans since being spitefully traded by then-coach Matt Patricia to the Seattle Seahawks back in the 2019 season. The 2016 sixth-round pick by Detroit thrived in Seattle, earning three Pro Bowl berths. He led the NFL with 14 total interceptions from 2020-2022.

The Lions have not shown any inclination to bring in potential help at the safety spot all summer, yet many held out some sliver of hope that Diggs would make a triumphant return to Detroit. Now, the Lions will see him in Week 8 with the Titans.
