NFL preseason games typically aren’t very compelling, but there’s a must-watch preseason game this week if you’re a Tennessee Vols fan.
On Thursday night, the New York Giants will host the Detroit Lions. And a couple of former Vols are expected to see a significant amount of playing time.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters on Tuesday that starting quarterback Jared Goff likely won’t play against the Giants, which paves the way for former Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker to see extended action.
Hooker is battling with Nate Sudfeld for the No. 2 quarterback job in Detroit. Preseason action will go a long way in determining who wins that battle.
