Comeback win by Lions shows why this could finally be their year

Detroit Lions fans have longed for their team to be the last one standing at the end of an NFL season, and with Sunday night’s comeback victory over the Houston Texans, this may finally be the year for Detroit to be Super Bowl champions.

Detroit coming back from being down 23-7 on Sunday night in a game in which quarterback Jared Goff threw five interceptions is a testament to how special and magical this season could potentially be.

The magical season for the Lions started long before Sunday night. Outside of the five-interception game from Goff, he has been magnificent so far this season, as he has a completion percentage of 71.4%, which puts him second just behind Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.

It’s not just Goff who has been brilliant, it’s been the entire Lions offense. The unit ranks second in points per game, as well as top 10 in total yards per game and rushing yards per game.

That run game is headlined by a two-headed monster in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, with Gibbs carrying the load and averaging 80.8 rushing yards per game.
