Jeff Daniels goes on The Tonight Show singing about breaking the Lions’ curse

USA Today

Longtime Detroit Lions fan and Michigan native Jeff Daniels continues to sign the praises of his beloved football team. The Curse of Bobby Layne stands no chance after Daniels performed a diddy about his efforts with Peyton Manning to snap the storied curse back in 2022.

Daniels sang rhapsodically about the curse-breaking event during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He referenced the call from Manning, the Hall of Fame quarterback turned media pundit.

“Will you join me in exorcising the curse of Bobby Layne.”

“And just like that, we started winning,” the 70-year-old Daniels crooned. “And just like that, we were playoff bound.”

The studio audience joined in with the second rendition of the chorus:
“Say goodbye to all that sorrow
Say goodbye to all that pain
Say goodbye to the ‘same old Lions’
And the curse of Bobby Layne”

If you like the tune, “The Curse of Bobby Layne” is for sale for $0.99 on Daniels’ website.
