NFL Twitter crushes Steelers for tying the lowly Lions

The Pittsburgh Steelers tied the Detroit Lions at home on Sunday, and Twitter let ’em have it.

NFL Twitter decided to troll the Pittsburgh Steelers hellaciously for tying the winless Detroit Lions at home on Sunday afternoon.

For the first time ever, America had a shot at seeing a team go 0-17. The 2021 Lions had a chance to be worse than the 2008 version of themselves. Unfortunately, the Steelers played down to their competition in what we call a Mike Tomlin special. Dan Campbell and company will celebrate this tie like they won the Super Bowl. Can you imagine what’ll happen when Detroit wins a game?

Sunday was more evidence to what life will be like in Pittsburgh once Ben Roethlisberger retires.

For those who watched the entire game, you will not get that precious time back and your eyes will never be the same.

If there was ever proof ties should be abolished, this game has to be the final straw in the NFL.

While the players on the field could not decide the game, it is a shame we were denied Tomlin bare-knuckle boxing Campbell at the 50-yard line to declare a winner. This would have made the horrendous television debacle worthwhile.

So will the Lions win a game this season? Who knows, but they are not going 0-17! A generation of Michiganders will talk about this game to their grandchildren when the 2072 incarnation of the same, sad Lions lose another awful game on Thanksgiving. Will the Steelers make the playoffs after tying the Lions? They still could, but man, what if this game costs them a postseason bid?

If you had the Lions tying the Steelers on your NFL bingo card today, you deserve a cold one.
