Lions fans conflicted after trading up for Jameson Williams

The Detroit Lions decided to move up in the draft to pick up Alabama football’s Jameson Williams and it looks like Lions fans aren’t sure of how to react.

Following a monumental trade, some Detroit Lions fans aren’t exactly sure how to react with the player their favorite team selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Lions ended up going with Jameson Williams, the dynamic and thrilling wide receiver who played for both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

To make the pick possible, the Lions ended up trading away some pretty notable picks. It’s not an end of the world sort of situation, but they did give up a good bit to the Minnesota Vikings to be able to go out and get Williams with this first round pick.

Williams is arguably one of the most talented players available in this draft, so why is this trade something that some may be potentially concerned about? Well, Williams tore his ACL.

He’s recovering well, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, so that’s good, but that’s still a pretty rough injury.

And clearly, it appears as if not every Lions fan is all that thrilled with the choice, though many are excited about Williams’ potential.

The trade with the Vikings is a bit strange, all things considered, but the Lions were apparently willing to make the trade since it meant getting Williams.

This is a transaction that many will be confused by. Detroit doesn’t exactly have a great situation going at quarterback and it’s never any fun to recover from an ACL injury.

That said, Williams is fresh off a season during which he managed to record 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns. If he’s able to get fully healthy and can produce at a high level, then this definitely works out in the Lions’ favor. We’ll see if that happens.
