Lions Training Camp Risers & Fallers Ft. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus, & Levi Onwuzurike

Lions Nation Unite
Detroit Lions’ training camp is over a week into practice and with time watching the actions taken on the field, players have stood out in a good way and in a bad way. In this article, we will highlight the winners and losers from the first week of the Detroit Lions 2022 NFL season.

Winners

Amon-Ra St. Brwon
The First winner in the training camp is Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown has been electric at training camp nearly winning every single snap and beating the defense every time he has the football. St. Brown’s confidence is observed as he makes big play after big play. When it comes to yards after the catch, St. Brown has won.

Aidan Hutchinson
Lions rookie Aidan Hutchinson has been dominant on the defensive line. Nearly in every practice, Hutchinson has recorded a sack. He has won against the likes of Penei Sewell, Jonah Jackson, Taylor Decker, and Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Aidan Hutchinson is everything and more expected of the second pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

Quintez Cephus
Quintex Cephus has made big catches every single time he has practiced. He has been catching extremely difficult passes and made the most of the opportunity in camp. Most importantly, he avoided a major injury and that’s a win if you ask me.

Malcolm Rodriguez
Not many linebackers have made much noise in training camp except for rookie linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been sideline to sideline consistently around the football making strong tackles against the offense. With such competition at the linebacker position, his stock is rising.

Jeffrey Okudah
Jeffrey Okudah has a microscope on his this season. With a bad start to his career, he must excel in 2022. So far in camp, he has. Okudah has been practicing and fighting for the No. 2 cornerback position and looks good doing so.

Kalif Raymond
Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond has been a positive standout in training camp. Kalif Raymond has shown his speed on offense and giving the defense issues with his breakaway burst on the field. Also, on special teams, his work on the field is solid.

Losers
Levi Onwuzurike
When I say loser, it is not meaning he is terrible. He is on this list because of a lack of practice. Dealing with some injuries is hurting his snap counts. Onwuzurike needs to get time on the field and build from last year’s season.

Jermar Jefferson
Jermar Jefferson is in the competition for his life. The running back room has great depth for the Lions. He needs to show more on the practice field so he can secure his spot on the Lions’ 53-man roster.

Julian Okwara
Julian Okwara is not a loser. He has had some good snaps at practice and had been healthy. He just needs to make more noise on the field. Not much is being talked about in camp and hopefully, he can show up in the preseason.
